f8, Exp. 1/250, ISO 200, 65mm When I passed this sign on Saturday, my first thought was "No kidding!" I do a lot with a group I joined through Meetup.com and one of my biggest frustrations with going to events at venues I have not yet been to is the lack of addresses on Portland buildings. Then it appealed to my warped sense of humor. While I know they get called out for other emergencies, the thing that first comes to mind when thinking of the fire department is of course fire, and wouldn't the smoke and flames be a good indicator they are at the right place?
In all seriousness, one of my fears has always been that I will lose my home to fire and this is a good reminder that in the case of a fire or other emergency it is important all emergency personnel can easily find where they need to be. So, is your address visible?
