Day 85: Statue/Heather

Today's challenge found me back along the river, without Sammy. There is a huge statue along the trail that I always thought was Pocohantas. It turns out she is actually Ilchee, or Moon Woman, daughter of Chief Comcomly who was a friend of Lewis and Clark. Though I have seen this statue many times, I am always impressed with it-especially the detail and how peaceful she looks gazing out at the Columbia River.

Ilchee's story can be found here.
