Day 110 - MetaArt/Selina

With a couple of artsy people in the house, I thought this one could be lots of fun.  I have a couple of pictures in the house that the kids have painted as well as various other art pieces of theirs.  Victoria even sketched on this evening for me to try.  I ended up liking the colors of this painting that she did about 5 years ago (so she would have been about 5).  This picture and one that Morgan did both hang in the craft room.  How appropriate for this crafty household.

Day 100 - Portrait/Selina

After capturing a couple of incredible shots of Victoria this weekend, I thought maybe I could try for some of Morgan, but wouldn't you know?  He wouldn't agree to be my model.  Victoria was more than willing to try again and she's so very photogenic that I got several I could use for Christmas cards this year.  This one is one of my favorites.  Where did my baby girl go?  She's growing up much too quickly and just look at those dimples!  (Also note the very blurry background that would have been great a few days ago!)

Day 96 - Cake/Selina

Happy birthday to my beautiful little girl, Victoria!  I can't believe she turns 10 today and in celebration, I wanted to do a picture of cake.  I didn't do a cake though, so cupcakes is what I took my photo of.  Nothing fancy, but the kids all loved them today.

Day 94 - Masks/Selina

Victoria's birthday is 10/4 and because it's a Monday, I knew I'd be doing her birthday party today.  Her theme this year was masquerade, so I thought it'd be great to get a shot of the masks we were going to give the girls.  Sadly, the masks I ordered didn't make it here in time, so I had to improvise.  I went to the store with Victoria and we picked out one special mask for her and all the supplies we would need for the girls to make their own masks for the party.  These masks the girls made were so cute.  Most of the kids left before we could get a picture of all of them together, but here are few.

Day 78 - Learning/Selina

This shot would have been better had I thought about it and saved it for a few days down the road, but the kids neither one had homework, except reading, on this night.  Oh well, it's still a great picture of Victoria reading Tale of Despereaux; both kids love this book and movie.

Day 50 - Balance/Selina

This one was not nearly as easy as I thought it was going to be, but the kids sure had fun trying to balance all sorts of things.  Here's what I finally ended up with:

Day 15 - Black & White/Selina

I was very much looking forward to black and white day as I love taking pictures of the kids.  I was really hoping to talk Morgan into it today, but he decided he didn't want to do it and Victoria is, of course, a willing model.  My camera doesn't the traditional "black and white setting", but I finally found the monochrome setting and was thrilled to see what it could do.  I also had Victoria in the cutest black, white and yellow summer dress, so it helped these photos a lot. Here's what I finally came up with.

Day 7 - Power of Three

What I really wanted to take a picture of was a cross.  The Trinity...that's the ideal three to me.  But, I couldn't get one to turn out well (would have helped if I had been home for more than 30 minutes tonight)...  So, I tried a few other things and wasn't happy with any of them.  I finally took this picture of Victoria.  Every good cheerleader needs a sweet girl with a sweet smile, a set of pom-poms, and a megaphone.   This would have been a better picture though if she hadn't gotten tired of me trying to get the lighting right.  Next time...don't wait until after 9:00 pm to get the picture done!

Day 6 - Summer/Selina

I had so many ideas for today.  I wanted to everything from popsicles/ice cream cones, to watermelon, to water play and even bare feet.  I tried all of those and had the most success with this photo.  It was tough to get pictures of kids who were extremely moody today.  Kids!
